Clawdbot: My initial experience
Just installed Clawdbot and started playing around. And so far, itβs living up to the hype π¦
A few things stood out immediately:
-> Runs locally (huge plus in my book)
-> Easily integrated with WhatsApp (Slack and Teams is next on my list)
-> Has a more proactive, agent-like approach. It doesnβt just wait for prompts, it just does it.
That last point is the killer and a real differentiator. When done right, it significantly elevates the user experience. The flip side? With deeper, more autonomous access (especially at the file/system level, or your mails/social messages), guardrails and discipline really matter. Power without control can get messy fast.
Even with limited experimentation so far, the automation potential is obvious. I already have a handful of ideas to try this weekend.
As expected with an early open-source project, I ran into a couple of bugs. That said, the setup was smoother than anticipated, and the core experience feels surprisingly mature.

Excited to keep tinkering and see where this goes π
